Join a mission-driven startup transforming in-home care through AI that unifies data from cameras, sensors, and wearables. As the first in-house engineer, you will bridge the gap between technical execution and business strategy, turning open questions into working evidence rapidly.
You will spend most of your time writing code for prototypes, integrations, and internal tools while evaluating new hardware and models. This role offers a path to technical leadership as the team expands, requiring strong autonomy and hands-on experimentation with emerging technologies like humanoid robots.
What you'll do
- Write production and prototype code across the stack
- Build MVPs and demos to validate ideas with real data
- Create internal tools and automation for team efficiency
- Integrate devices, sensors, and third-party services
- Turn technical questions into working evidence quickly
- Run end-to-end experiments on new models and hardware
- Evaluate build versus buy decisions for technology stack
- Provide clear technical feasibility assessments to leadership
What you'll need
- 5+ years of professional software building experience
- Strong hands-on coding skills across the stack
- Practical experience with LLMs, speech, or perception systems
- Track record of shipping products from zero to one
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High autonomy in prioritizing tasks and ownership
- Willingness to travel to the US a few times per year
- Valid US B1/B2 tourist visa held by candidate
Nice to have
- Experience with robotics, humanoids, or embodied AI
- Familiarity with IoT and connected device ecosystems
- Comfort with edge deployment and audio pipelines
- Background in early-stage startup environments
- Product instinct for deciding what to build next
