Join GameChanger as a Senior Engineering Manager to drive the development of new products and platform features supporting youth sports communities. You will lead a high-performing team, partnering with Product and Design to define strategy and deliver scalable API solutions. This position requires balancing rapid experimentation with long-term technical excellence in a remote-first setting.
What you'll do
- Lead and develop an engineering squad while influencing group direction
- Define multi-quarter product and engineering strategies with stakeholders
- Coordinate work across platform, data, and client engineering teams
- Ensure high standards for secure, reliable, and scalable API products
- Coach engineers and emerging leaders through feedback and growth plans
- Hire and onboard talent to build an inclusive, collaborative culture
- Communicate strategy, risks, and tradeoffs to executive stakeholders
What you'll need
- 6+ years software engineering experience with 4+ years in leadership
- Track record delivering reliable customer-facing products at scale
- Experience shaping strategy and balancing delivery with technical health
- Background in building or operating external APIs and distributed systems
- Strong technical judgment in backend systems and API design
- Understanding of API concerns like auth, versioning, and observability
- Proven ability to influence without authority and navigate conflict
Nice to have
- Experience working with third-party developers or platform ecosystems
- Proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, AWS, Redis, or PostgreSQL
