Lead two engineering teams responsible for the platform supporting Ignite Reading’s virtual tutoring service. You will oversee cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and data systems serving the engineering and analytics organizations. This player-coach position involves managing engineers, setting technical strategy, and owning the SOC2 compliance program.
What you'll do
- Manage and grow DevOps and Data Engineering teams totaling six engineers
- Set unified platform roadmap balancing infrastructure and data needs
- Ensure reliable, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on AWS
- Oversee system monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes
- Own annual SOC2 audit cycle and penetration test coordination
- Guide architectural decisions and review technical designs
- Coach teams on AI-assisted development practices and tool adoption
What you'll need
- 8+ years in software, infrastructure, or data engineering
- 2+ years directly managing engineers, not just projects
- Deep expertise in either Cloud/DevOps or Modern Data Engineering
- Working fluency in the non-primary domain to guide decisions
- Experience running teams serving multiple internal customers
- Familiarity with SOC2 and end-to-end compliance program management
- Proven ability to develop senior engineers into technical leads
- Demonstrated experience using AI coding assistants in workflow
