Lead a team of 7–9 engineers focused on Payments, working closely with Product and Design. You will balance performance management with hands-on technical contribution, ensuring the team adopts AI-native coding practices. The goal is to accelerate delivery from idea to validated user value while maintaining high quality.
What you'll do
- Manage performance, feedback, and growth plans for 7–9 engineers
- Coach engineers through pairing, code reviews, and stretch assignments
- Collaborate with Product and Design on investment decisions and experiments
- Write code directly for features and architectural changes
- Maintain AI-native practices and ensure high code quality
- Track delivery speed, quality, and product impact metrics
What you'll need
- 8+ years of software engineering experience
- 4+ years leading engineering teams in product companies
- Proven track record in hiring, growth, and performance management
- Hands-on experience using AI for coding, reviewing, and refactoring
- Founder mindset with ability to pivot based on user evidence
- Comfortable working in ambiguity and trying new approaches
- Fluent English communication skills
Nice to have
- Experience in payments or fintech sectors
- Knowledge of PSPs, reconciliation, or compliance
- Experience working with systems at scale
