You will lead a full-stack product team responsible for reinventing the matching experience between homeowners and local service professionals. The team moves away from static questionnaires toward flexible, AI-driven systems that learn from professional preferences to improve job quality and volume.
Partnering with Product, Design, and Applied Science, you will define technical strategy and drive execution for this core marketplace initiative. The role requires managing engineers across backend, frontend, iOS, and Android while fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
What you'll do
- Define and evolve technical vision alongside Product, Design, and Applied Science partners
- Drive execution against team goals and OKRs while managing technical tradeoffs
- Hire, coach, and manage full-stack engineers including Staff+ level talent
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Trust & Safety to resolve dependencies
- Maintain, scale, and operate the infrastructure owned by your team
- Strengthen organizational effectiveness and improve engineering practices
What you'll need
- At least 2 years of experience in an engineering management role
- 5+ years of experience building software at scale
- Proven ability to partner with Product, Design, and Data Science on strategy
- Strong technical judgment for complex architectural and product decisions
- Experience leading senior engineers and driving career development
- Skilled in using A/B testing and metrics to inform engineering decisions
