Join Labrynth as a Forward Deployed Engineer, bridging the gap between customer needs and product development. You will embed with clients in regulated industries to identify workflow bottlenecks and implement secure, audit-ready solutions.
This position requires moving fluidly between field discovery, coding full-stack features, and productizing insights for the broader platform. You will own the lifecycle from initial user research to deployment and verification.
What you'll do
- Conduct customer discovery and shadow operators to map real-world workflows
- Implement thin product slices across frontend, backend, data, and integrations
- Write tests and verify behavior against realistic data before demos
- Explain technical tradeoffs and risks clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Identify reusable patterns from client work to improve core product
- Manage ambiguous projects from discovery through rollout and follow-up
What you'll need
- Proven experience shipping production software and verifying its impact
- Comfortable navigating messy customer environments to find root problems
- Ability to translate operator needs into code and back again
- Frontend skills in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Tailwind/shadcn
- Backend proficiency with Python, Pydantic, Django/Ninja or FastAPI
- Experience with Postgres, migrations, tenant scoping, and audit logs
- Knowledge of AI agents, typed outputs, evals, and major LLM providers
- Cloud debugging skills across Vercel, Cloudflare, AWS, or GCP
- Strong discipline in separating fact, inference, and risk in documentation
Nice to have
- AWS experience including IAM, Lambda, API Gateway, and Secrets Manager
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code practices
- Background in regulated sectors like energy, healthcare, or finance
- Prior experience as a forward deployed or founding engineer
