You will own the systems powering Symmetry’s Intelligence Layer, focusing on API design and data architecture. Working with product and research teams, you will turn complex concepts into fault-tolerant services that enhance human-AI collaboration.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain reliable, versioned APIs for product and integrations
- Architect relational, vector, and graph-based data stores
- Develop scalable backend systems using modern Python frameworks
- Integrate retrieval and generation pipelines for AI workflows
- Ensure fault tolerance, security, and compliance in production
- Monitor services and manage incident response practices
- Debug root causes and optimize system performance
- Collaborate with frontend and design teams on user experiences
What you'll need
- 5+ years building backend or full-stack systems in production
- Strong Python fundamentals and experience with web frameworks
- Deep understanding of data modeling and SQL databases
- Experience designing distributed and asynchronous systems
- Knowledge of vector or graph data models for search systems
- Foundation in cloud-native operations and containerization
- Track record of owning systems from design to operation
- Awareness of security best practices and compliance
- Strong debugging and incident-management skills
