Mattermost is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to scale its core web platform used by defense, intelligence, and critical infrastructure sectors. You will build secure features across the Go backend and React/TypeScript frontend, leveraging AI coding agents as part of your daily workflow to deliver high-quality software.
What you'll do
- Architect and build full-stack features using Go, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Redis
- Integrate AI coding agents like Claude Code into daily workflows for scaffolding and testing
- Develop internal tooling to enhance team delivery and AI effectiveness
- Own testing strategies for both frontend and backend code
- Design and consume REST and WebSocket APIs with strong networking fundamentals
- Maintain security and compliance standards for government and enterprise clients
- Contribute to the open-source Mattermost codebase
What you'll need
- Strong full-stack experience in Go and React or comparable technologies
- Proficiency in designing and consuming REST and WebSocket APIs
- Experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL schema design and optimization
- Daily fluency with AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot
- Ability to ship and own complex software end-to-end with minimal supervision
- Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship
Nice to have
- Experience with distributed systems or high-availability architectures
- Familiarity with security requirements in regulated environments
- Background in defense, intelligence, or critical infrastructure products
- History of open-source contributions
- Experience working in distributed or remote-first teams
- Experience building tools or workflows on top of AI coding agents
