Join the Customer & Cardholder Experiences team to deliver innovative user interfaces and embeddable solutions. You will own projects, solve ambiguous problems, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to transform the experience for Marqeta’s customers and their cardholders.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and improve user interfaces and supporting backend services
- Define project milestones and act as technical lead when needed
- Mentor less-experienced team members and provide technical guidance
- Write clear, efficient, and adaptable code with minimal bugs
- Lead design for medium components and participate in larger feature designs
- Identify system gaps and propose innovative plans to address them
- Participate in on-call coverage rotations
What you'll need
- 5+ years software engineering experience with Bachelor’s, or equivalent combination
- 2+ years backend experience in an object-oriented programming language
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWTs, and user session management
- Proficiency in modern Java backend stack using Spring Boot and Kubernetes
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Strong skills in Javascript and Node.js
- Experience developing scalable microservices on cloud platforms like AWS
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Nice to have
- Domain experience in Payments or Fintech industry
- Experience with React, Angular, VueJS, or NextJS
- Knowledge of highly-available distributed systems and caching
