You will own the frontend architecture for Astra's payments dashboard and embedded products, ensuring high performance and scalability. While primarily focused on React and TypeScript interfaces, you will also extend Python APIs and collaborate on backend integration patterns.
This position suits engineers who prioritize frontend excellence but possess the backend range to deliver features end-to-end. You will help establish design systems, mentor team members, and translate complex financial workflows into intuitive user experiences.
What you'll do
- Lead frontend architecture decisions including state management and scalability
- Design React and TypeScript interfaces for dashboards and embedded products
- Build and extend Python APIs to support frontend features
- Establish frontend best practices and shared component libraries
- Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews for quality and consistency
- Develop internal tools for operations and compliance teams
- Collaborate with product and design to refine requirements and UX
What you'll need
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with frontend ownership
- Strong production experience in React and TypeScript
- Ability to build and extend APIs independently
- Experience owning features from data layer to UI
- Willingness to travel up to 15% annually
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

- Proficiency in Python for backend development
- Experience building data visualization charts and analytics surfaces
- Background in fintech products or transaction workflows
- Ownership of design systems or component libraries
- Familiarity with domain-driven design or clean architecture
