You will design and build the web-based interface for SimSpace’s internet simulation platform, translating complex distributed-system behaviors into intuitive workflows. Working closely with backend engineers, you will create reusable components for configuring services, managing topology, and monitoring platform state.
The position requires strong expertise in React and TypeScript, with the ability to contribute to backend services using Kotlin and Spring Boot. You will help establish frontend standards and ensure seamless integration with the control-plane API.
What you'll do
- Design and build frontend workflows for technically sophisticated operators using React
- Translate complex platform operations into intuitive and observable user experiences
- Build reusable components for forms, validation, error handling, and status reporting
- Integrate frontend with control-plane API ensuring consistent contract usage
- Partner with backend engineers on API design to reflect user workflow needs
- Contribute to backend services and integration layers in Kotlin where needed
- Develop views for platform health, connectivity, and service lifecycle management
- Implement state-management patterns for asynchronous and event-driven behaviors
- Build automated tests including component, integration, and end-to-end coverage
- Improve frontend performance, accessibility, security, and maintainability
- Collaborate with product, design, and SRE teams to deliver cohesive features
- Help establish frontend development standards and code-review practices
What you'll need
- Strong experience building production web apps with React and TypeScript
- Experience designing complex operator interfaces or infrastructure products
- Strong frontend architecture skills including state management and routing
- Experience integrating frontend applications with RESTful platform APIs
- Understanding of asynchronous and distributed-system behavior in UIs
- Backend development experience, preferably with Kotlin and Spring Boot
- Experience collaborating on API schemas and contracts with backend teams
- Strong testing practices across unit, component, and end-to-end levels
- Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and secure frontend dev
- Experience instrumenting applications for cross-boundary failure diagnosis
- Strong product instincts for simplifying technically complex workflows
- Clear communication skills for cross-functional engineering collaboration
