The Authoring Experience team manages how Vanta Tests are created, deployed, and presented to users. You will develop the backend services and public APIs that allow customers to interact directly with the automation platform, ensuring seamless integration across systems.

What you'll do

  • Own architecture and rollout strategies for critical platform services
  • Design and maintain secure, reliable customer-facing APIs
  • Integrate services across the platform to support customer use cases
  • Drive architectural decisions through written RFCs and design records
  • Mentor engineers and partner with management on team health
  • Build backend services with TypeScript and Node.js
  • Contribute to frontend experiences using React

What you'll need

  • 8+ years of backend development experience
  • Proven track record designing and shipping public product APIs
  • Strong understanding of system design and service boundaries
  • Comfortable working in modern frontend codebases like React
  • Experience leading complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives
  • History of safely rolling out or deprecating large-scale systems
  • Strong written communication and mentorship skills
  • Willingness to use AI tools to enhance development workflows
  • Must reside in and work exclusively from the United States
  • Authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience in startup or fast-paced environments
  • Knowledge of MongoDB at scale
  • Prior work in security or compliance products
