Join Mondoo's engineering team to enhance the platform's policy engine, scalability, and multi-region capabilities. You will develop high-performance backend services and CLI applications that help teams assess and remediate security findings efficiently.
The team operates with high velocity, merging approximately 200 pull requests and releasing 15 times per week. You will collaborate closely with colleagues to design features, ensure safe rollouts, and maintain robust production systems.
What you'll do
- Design and implement scalable backend services using Go
- Develop and maintain microservices-based architectures
- Create and enhance command-line interface applications
- Implement APIs using Protocol Buffers and GraphQL
- Build Grafana dashboards and alerts for feature monitoring
- Optimize codebases for performance and reliability
- Implement load balancing, fault tolerance, and scalability
- Collaborate on integrating backend services with frontend
- Develop robust error handling, logging, and monitoring
- Participate in code reviews and define coding standards
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues in production
- Represent Mondoo at community events when preferred
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of professional backend development experience with Go
- Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems
- Experience developing command-line interface applications
- Proficiency in Protocol Buffers and GraphQL API design
- Experience with SQL databases
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Solid understanding of Git version control
- Fluency in English with strong written communication skills
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly
Nice to have
- Experience with event-driven architectures
- Knowledge of AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with gRPC
- Contributions to open-source Go projects
- Cross-platform CLI development experience
- Experience participating in or leading RFC processes
