Join Railway's platform engineering team to define networking infrastructure and observability stacks. You will build ingestion pipelines handling over 1M requests per second and create scalable APIs for real-time telemetry data.
This position requires constructing immutable infrastructure and GRPC services from scratch. You will work with product teams to deliver intuitive dashboards while ensuring system resilience and zero-downtime capabilities.
What you'll do
- Build ingestion pipelines for 1M+ RPS log and metric streams
- Develop fault-tolerant alerting engines for real-time notifications
- Create backend observability APIs for application monitoring
- Provide realtime data streams to Dashboard and Product teams
- Build Golang and Rust GRPC services for thousands of users
- Define immutable infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible
- Write engineering requirement documents from idea to implementation
- Interface with TypeScript and GraphQL edge for API exposure
What you'll need
- Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture
- Experience building fault-tolerant and scalable services
- Interest in VictoriaMetrics, ClickHouse, or similar stacks
- Ability to prioritize effectively in ambiguous startup environments
- Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration
- Willingness to own solutions from implementation to monitoring
