Somnia seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to manage key backend services, including the L1 chain, node fleet, RPC layers, and developer tools. You will apply SRE principles to ensure reliability, automate infrastructure, and support rapid team delivery through robust platform engineering.
What you'll do
- Define and maintain SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets with comprehensive observability
- Build self-service infrastructure using IaC, CI/CD, and standardized deployment paths
- Manage end-to-end rollouts including canaries, migrations, and rollbacks
- Operate and tune nodes, validators, RPC, and indexing systems for performance
- Lead incident response, conduct postmortems, and harden platform security
- Partner with product teams to design production-ready services and shared tooling
What you'll need
- Strong experience operating production infrastructure at scale on cloud or bare metal
- Deep knowledge of Linux fundamentals and system operations
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi
- Experience running Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
- Strong programming skills in Go and/or TypeScript for automation
- Experience with observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
- Ability to operate distributed systems with capacity planning and tuning
- Genuine interest in crypto and on-chain systems
Nice to have
- Experience operating blockchain node infrastructure for L1/L2 networks
- Knowledge of high-performance networking and low-latency systems
- Experience with multi-region deployments and failover strategies
- Familiarity with security practices like HSMs and secrets management
- Experience with EVM tooling and the Web3 infrastructure ecosystem
