You will serve as the technical lead for the Snowflake environment, covering Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Data Mart layers. Your main goal is to support and advance the Enterprise Factory Data Lake by removing technical roadblocks for developers and ensuring timely data product delivery.
What you'll do
- Maintain Snowflake infrastructure across Data Lake, Warehouse, and Mart layers
- Lead daily technical support sessions to remove developer roadblocks
- Manage access requests, permissions, and contributor onboarding
- Guide contributors through architecture and production deployment processes
- Develop SQL-based solutions for data-product issues and special projects
- Evaluate new Snowflake capabilities and guide their effective use
- Translate business-process needs into technical documentation
- Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams globally
What you'll need
- Administer user access, permissions, and contributor enablement
- Support ingestion workflows and platform configurations
- Identify platform issues and coordinate resolution paths
- Apply controls for platform stability, security, and availability
- Write and refine SQL for Snowflake-based data products
- Diagnose data-quality, integration, and query issues structurally
- Create or adjust database objects to support production delivery
- Use Python for ingestion or automation when available
- Lead recurring technical discussions with global teams
- Explain technical concepts in clear business language
- Clarify business needs before defining technical requirements
- Translate factory or operational processes into technical docs
Nice to have
- Knowledge of manufacturing or factory business processes
- Familiarity with Caterpillar terminology and ways of working
- Snowflake-focused certification or comparable credential
