Jasper seeks a Senior Manager of Engineering to lead the IQ Platform team, focusing on the context layer that enables AI agents to execute marketing workflows. This player-coach role involves guiding technical strategy, managing engineers, and contributing to code while building scalable knowledge management and RAG systems.
What you'll do
- Lead the IQ Platform team and set technical direction for major initiatives
- Define the vision for the context layer and align engineering with business strategy
- Build and scale knowledge management systems and RAG pipelines
- Design self-improving architecture that learns from usage and feedback
- Write and review code while mentoring engineers as a player-coach
- Partner with Staff-level engineers on complex architectural problems
- Balance velocity and quality while shipping systems in a startup environment
- Collaborate with Product and Design to ensure platform supports agent workflows
What you'll need
- 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
- Proven people leadership and technical architecture ownership
- Working understanding of core AI concepts like LLMs, agents, and RAG
- Experience building production platforms or infrastructure at scale
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and evolving requirements in a startup
- Strong systems design skills and strategic thinking capabilities
- Track record of connecting technical work to business outcomes
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and applied LLM systems
- Expertise in RAG, retrieval pipelines, and embedding strategies
- Familiarity with LLM frameworks such as LangChain
