Lead the IAM Platform team at ClickUp, responsible for the foundational authorization engine, permission models, and authentication systems like SSO and MFA. You will drive the delivery of secure, auditable access controls while managing team growth and hiring.
This role demands an AI-native management style, using agents to handle status reporting and workflow automation. You will partner with product and security leaders to meet enterprise customer requirements and maintain high operational excellence.
What you'll do
- Hire, mentor, and develop the IAM Platform engineering team
- Deliver enterprise-grade access management and authorization engines
- Set roadmap priorities with product and security leadership
- Implement AI-native workflows to eliminate manual status reporting
- Partner with enterprise customers on identity and security requirements
- Ensure operational excellence and safe migrations for critical services
- Uphold high engineering standards for security-critical code
- Collaborate across backend, frontend, and infosec teams
What you'll need
- 8+ years software engineering experience in production SaaS
- 3+ years managing engineering teams including senior staff
- Hands-on experience with OAuth, OIDC, SAML, JWTs, and SCIM
- Proven ability to use AI tools to streamline team operations
- Experience delivering enterprise-grade SaaS at scale
- Track record of building and retaining high-performing teams
- Technical depth to lead architecture discussions and trade-offs
- Security-conscious mindset with focus on auditability
- Daily fluency with AI tools in personal workflow
Nice to have
- IAM experience at scale with millions of users
- Designing RBAC/ABAC or Zero Trust identity models
- Familiarity with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance
- Experience moving products upmarket to enterprise clients
- Background in AI-native or agent-driven operating models
- Managing engineers across both backend and frontend
