Lead the technical arm of Skydio's go-to-market strategy for state, local, and educational agencies. You will manage a national team of Solutions Engineers, ensuring high-quality site assessments, successful proofs of concept, and seamless product integration. The role involves systematizing processes to support future regional splits and driving technical wins across critical accounts.
What you'll do
- Hire, onboard, and coach Solutions Engineers with clear territory ownership
- Set standards for demos, trial plans, and customer-facing documentation
- Manage team capacity and prioritize technical resource allocation
- Serve as senior technical escalation point for critical pursuits
- Systematize demo standards and site assessment quality for scale
- Guide integration strategies for CAD, dispatch, and video platforms
- Translate field observations into prioritized product requirements
- Maintain command of public sector procurement and grant funding paths
What you'll need
- 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles like solutions engineering
- 1+ year leading a technical team with hiring and mentorship duties
- Strong understanding of drone tech and Public Safety sUAS operations
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and Drone as First Responder concepts
- Familiarity with CAD, VMS, and related public safety software platforms
- Ability to travel approximately 30% of the time
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs unaided
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for all audiences
Nice to have
- Prior service as sworn officer, firefighter, or agency UAS lead
- Experience launching Drone as First Responder programs from waiver to go-live
- Familiarity with grant funding pathways and cooperative purchasing
- Working knowledge of Salesforce, Palantir, or Databricks
- Track record of scaling technical teams during rapid growth periods

- Approximately 30% travel for customer engagements and events
- Reports to Director of Solutions Engineering – SLED
- FAA Part 107 certification required within first 60 days
