You will develop core AI capabilities that power client engagements across the energy industry, including forecasting, disaggregation, and asset health monitoring. Instead of working on single accounts, you will build tested libraries and a high-performance building-energy simulation engine used by all teams.

The position involves creating infrastructure for real-time grid sensor data and standardized building formats, much of which is published as open source. You will own the feedback loop with client pods to refine tools based on real-world field data.

What you'll do

  • Own reusable ML libraries for forecasting, disaggregation, and demand response
  • Build validated capabilities so client teams deploy proven components
  • Manage the simulation engine using Rust crates and Python bindings
  • Develop grid-data toolkits including protocol codecs and synthetic generators
  • Support planning and dispatch for demand-response programs
  • Publish versioned packages with attached evaluation evidence
  • Track field performance errors to guide future development

What you'll need

  • 5+ years shipping applied ML on real-world sensor or interval data
  • Strong numerical computing and feature engineering skills
  • Proficiency in Python and ability to work with or learn Rust
  • Experience building versioned, tested, and documented libraries
  • Willingness to handle own data engineering and cleaning tasks
  • Fluency in Python 3.12+, numpy, pandas, and SQL/Postgres
  • Comfort with time-series forecasting and clustering libraries
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's is a plus
