  • Senior Piping Engineer
  • Power & Gas-to-Power
  • Fully remote
  • AI + Engineering
  • Equity included

Candid is developing an AI layer for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction firms to automate document understanding and consistency checks. This role involves performing manual piping engineering tasks that software cannot yet handle, validating automated outputs, and defining product requirements based on real-world engineering needs.

What you'll do

  • Perform hands-on piping engineering for FEL-2 and early-phase delivery work
  • Validate automated piping outputs to ensure quality before client delivery
  • Define standards for piping information development during FEED and detailed design
  • Review P&IDs, line lists, piping specs, and tie-in lists for consistency
  • Build repeatable checks to identify tagging and completeness issues early
  • Map piping rework causes and distinguish repetitive steps from complex judgments
  • Clarify interface points with Process, Mechanical, I&C, Electrical, and Civil teams

What you'll need

  • 7+ years at a large EPC, PMC, or owner-operator in power generation
  • Direct experience with combined cycle, simple cycle, LNG, or cogeneration projects
  • Owned line list and piping spec development through FEED phases
  • Strong knowledge of high-energy steam cycles and balance of plant piping
  • Proficient with ASME B31.1 for power piping and B31.3 for process piping
  • Familiar with pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II or similar tools
  • Experience with 3D model driven layout tools like AVEVA E3D or SmartPlant 3D
  • Ability to spot inconsistencies across P&IDs and vendor packages quickly

Nice to have

  • Experience as a discipline lead or technical authority
  • Work on data center or behind-the-meter power campuses
  • Knowledge of high-energy piping materials like P91 or P22 chrome-moly
  • Experience with brownfield tie-ins and constructability constraints
  • Genuine interest in AI and automation technologies

Stack

  • ASME B31.1
  • ASME B31.3
  • CAESAR II
  • AVEVA E3D
  • PDMS
  • SmartPlant 3D

How you'll work

  • Fully remote position
  • Flexible work environment with no rigid playbook

What you get

  • Competitive base salary plus equity
  • Unlimited paid time off
  • Health insurance covering medical, dental, and vision
  • Up to $150 monthly health and wellness reimbursement
