Join the API team at Kota Embed to create the interfaces that allow HR and payroll platforms to offer benefits. You will treat the API as the product itself, focusing on developer experience and seamless integration across different markets.
This full-stack position emphasizes product judgment and autonomy. You will define technical solutions based on user needs, work across the entire stack, and leverage AI tools throughout the development lifecycle.
What you'll do
- Design and build APIs, SDKs, and documentation for platform integrations
- Identify developer pain points and translate them into product decisions
- Participate in client calls to understand problems and explain solutions
- Own features end-to-end from scoping and architecture to post-launch support
- Work across backend and frontend wherever the problem requires attention
- Contribute to roadmap planning and challenge requests that miss the mark
- Integrate AI tools into planning, coding, reviewing, and shipping processes
- Ensure systems remain reliable, secure, and observable through code reviews
What you'll need
- 6+ years of experience building and owning production software products
- Strong product judgment with ability to explain user problems and choices
- Full stack capability with comfort diving deep into backend or frontend
- Proven track record of taking vague briefs to successful production release
- Experience building dependable APIs or third-party system integrations
- Native use of AI for planning, setup, and review beyond simple autocomplete
- Clear communication skills tailored for both engineers and customers
- Commitment to reliability, security, and compliance in financial products
- Ability to work within GMT time zones with early morning start times
Nice to have
- Background in fintech, payroll, pensions, or employee benefits sectors
- Experience with multi-provider and multi-market benefit distributions
