You will own the end-to-end development of Marqeta’s credit platform, shaping core services that enable clients to launch credit products at scale. Working with engineering, legal, and compliance, you will translate complex regulatory and technical requirements into market-ready features.
This position requires a domain authority who can drive platform strategy, influence system architecture, and ensure API excellence for reliability and scalability.
What you'll do
- Define and drive multi-quarter strategy for credit platform core services
- Author detailed product requirements and technical documentation for engineering
- Lead coordination across engineering, GTM, legal, and compliance teams
- Collaborate on architectural decisions for account management and data integrity
- Ensure credit APIs are designed for reliability and seamless integration
- Align feature prioritization with business goals and client roadmaps
- Engage with customers to validate solutions and measure feature impact
- Use analytics to identify platform gaps and sharpen roadmap prioritization
What you'll need
- 5+ years of product management experience in credit cards or lending
- Track record of owning complex platforms or backend product areas
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with backend systems and APIs
- Ability to engage fluently with engineering on system architecture
- Deep technical acumen in distributed systems and production environments
- Exceptional communication skills for technical and regulatory topics
- Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance considerations for credit
Nice to have
- Familiarity with payment network rules and card scheme regulations
- Knowledge of broader payment technology best practices
