Join the team rebuilding the Frontiers Publishing Platform, which uses a manuscript-first architecture with embedded AI agents. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will work independently to shift testing left, spotting risks before code is written and ensuring release readiness through continuous validation.
What you'll do
- Drive independent validation strategy defining what and how to test
- Define test scenarios for key flows, edge cases, and risk areas
- Build and maintain automated API, integration, and E2E tests in CI/CD
- Own release-readiness decisions using production signals like logs and metrics
- Coach the team on testing practices and effective use of AI tools
- Contribute to wider Quality Engineering community standards
What you'll need
- At least 5 years in Quality Engineering or QA
- Experience defining validation strategy independently
- Strong systems thinking to identify risks across components
- Proficiency in API testing with REST Assured or Postman
- Experience with integration, E2E testing, and CI/CD automation
- Background in performance testing using k6 or JMeter
- Ability to work with minimal oversight and make risk trade-offs
- Interest in AI-assisted testing tools
Nice to have
- Experience with contract testing using Pact
- Familiarity with Playwright and BDD
- Background in large-scale system migrations
- Comfort reviewing pull requests and contributing test code
