As the second member of the security team, you will work alongside the Staff Security Engineer and report to the CTO/CISO. You will build on an existing foundation that includes SOC 2 Type II certification and a detection pipeline, expanding security engineering across infrastructure, product, and application layers.
The platform runs primarily on Go within Kubernetes on AWS. You will spend most of your time writing code, reviewing design documents, and creating middleware that allows engineers to easily integrate security into their services.
What you'll do
- Write production Go code for security services and middleware
- Review engineering design docs and provide security feedback
- Build reusable security libraries for authorization and validation
- Harden Kubernetes clusters and container supply chains
- Develop detections as code and reduce alert noise
- Automate evidence collection for SOC 1, SOC 2, and OCC audits
- Join the security on-call rotation and handle incident response
- Expand DLP coverage and help launch the bug bounty program
What you'll need
- Proven ability to write production-level code
- Experience with Go, AWS, and Kubernetes environments
- Familiarity with SIEM tools and detection pipelines
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks like SOC 2 or MiCA
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
- Eligible to work in the United States
