Join Kong as a Senior SRE for Project Volcano, an internal platform providing on-demand preview environments and managed services. You will partner with engineering leadership to define reliability posture and build the infrastructure backbone. This high-visibility role influences the next generation of Kong's developer ecosystem.
What you'll do
- Define SLOs, error budgets, and incident response for all Volcano services
- Design multi-region Kubernetes infrastructure and networking for edge deployments
- Build GitOps and CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, Helm, and Terraform
- Operate multi-tenant PostgreSQL clusters, Redis, and object storage
- Implement observability with Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana before launch
- Collaborate with product and security teams to embed reliability in architecture
- Evaluate emerging technologies like vector databases and serverless compute
What you'll need
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- Staff or Principal level experience in SRE or Platform Engineering
- Track record building practices for developer-facing platforms or PaaS
- Deep expertise in multi-tenant Kubernetes cluster design and security
- Experience with networking, service mesh, ingress, and autoscaling
