Join the API Products team at 0x, where you will transform complex routing logic into simple, high-performance APIs used by major wallets and exchanges. You will lead projects from concept to production, working on flagship Swap, Gasless, and Cross-Chain APIs that handle billions in trading volume.
This hands-on individual contributor role offers real ownership over new products and existing services. You will collaborate closely with product teams and key customers to deliver tools that enable developers to build better trading applications globally.
What you'll do
- Design and ship new APIs and trading products from research to production
- Extend existing APIs to support new chains, bridges, and customer features
- Ensure API reliability and speed while participating in on-call rotation
- Debug failed trades using logs, traces, and onchain data analysis
- Collaborate with product and legal teams on technical compliance decisions
- Write design documents and review peer designs and pull requests
What you'll need
- 6+ years backend engineering with 2+ years in DeFi or related fields
- Proven track record owning complex projects end-to-end as Senior/Lead
- Experience building and maintaining developer-facing APIs
- Deep knowledge of EVM, including transactions, gas, and approvals
- Strong system design skills for production-scale backend services
- Ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to non-engineers
- Willingness to attend annual global in-person team offsites
Nice to have
- Experience with cross-chain bridging or DEX aggregation
- Familiarity with non-EVM ecosystems like Solana
- Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Rust
