You will design and build AI agent systems, including orchestration layers and retrieval mechanisms, to support reliable multi-step workflows in healthcare. The team practices agentic development, using AI agents to assist with specification, planning, and execution while engineers maintain architectural oversight and quality control.
Beyond AI specifics, you will develop distributed backend services, event-driven workers, and intuitive user interfaces using React and TypeScript. The role requires mentoring other engineers and establishing patterns for AI quality assurance, ensuring accuracy and compliance in regulated environments.
What you'll do
- Design production-grade AI agent systems and multi-agent workflows
- Build retrieval, context, and memory systems for AI grounding
- Develop decision-support systems meeting healthcare compliance needs
- Create distributed backend services, APIs, and data models
- Build user interfaces with React and TypeScript
- Establish AI quality assurance patterns and automated evaluations
- Evaluate models for accuracy, latency, privacy, and cost
- Mentor engineers and raise team engineering standards
What you'll need
- Five or more years of software engineering experience
- Experience building and operating production AI applications
- Hands-on experience with agentic software development workflows
- Deep expertise in Python backend or React/TypeScript frontend
- Knowledge of retrieval, embeddings, and AI agent architectures
- Strong judgment in testing, security, and data governance
- Clear communication skills for cross-team collaboration
