Join the Growth engineering team at Pliant, a Berlin-based fintech providing modular payment solutions. You will develop backend services that streamline customer onboarding, ensure Anti-Financial Crime compliance, and manage credit risk across the customer lifecycle.
The role involves building robust, high-scale microservices that support commercial card issuing and spend management for thousands of businesses. You will work in a cross-functional squad alongside frontend engineers, product managers, and designers.
What you'll do
- Design and evolve the banking platform architecture
- Build scalable and secure microservice systems
- Implement integration and end-to-end tests
- Ensure code maintainability and extendability
- Support customer onboarding and compliance workflows
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Strong knowledge of distributed architecture patterns
- Proficiency in designing REST APIs
- Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Solid skills in automation testing
- Familiarity with AWS and Docker environments
Nice to have
- Experience using Terraform
- Basic knowledge of React and web development
