Join the Data Platform Serving team to maintain the high-availability, regulated environment supporting public sector investigators. You will work on the StarRocks-backed serving layer, ensuring it remains fast, reliable, and compliant as it scales.
This role involves becoming the second engineer capable of independently operating this critical infrastructure, reducing single-point-of-failure risks while leveraging AI tools for debugging and code review.
What you'll do
- Tune performance on the StarRocks serving layer using AI-assisted query profiling
- Build and harden data pipelines for government cloud investigations
- Reduce operational risk by providing backup coverage for the serving layer
- Triage production issues using AI-assisted debugging and log analysis
- Ship reliable changes quickly in a high-compliance environment
What you'll need
- Must hold US citizenship for government cloud data access
- Experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems like StarRocks
- Proven ability in query tuning and performance optimization at scale
- Comfort using AI tools such as Claude or Cursor for debugging and review
- Ability to take ownership of unfamiliar infrastructure with minimal oversight
