Join the Design Systems team at Thumbtack to create a bidirectional bridge between design tools and production code. You will develop agentic workflows that allow designers, product managers, and engineers to iterate together from low-fidelity concepts to shipped features.
This greenfield initiative involves partnering with Developer Experience and Frontend Infrastructure teams. You will evolve the Thumbprint design system to support machine-readable documentation and integrate with AI prototyping platforms.
What you'll do
- Design AI-assisted workflows moving work between Figma, prototypes, and production code.
- Serve as engineering counterpart to Product Design for patterns and components.
- Evolve Thumbprint design system for compatibility with agentic tooling and MCP.
- Partner with Developer Experience and Frontend Infrastructure teams on tooling.
- Conduct office hours and gather feedback from engineers and designers.
- Evaluate emerging AI development tools and recommend adoption strategies.
What you'll need
- 6+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
- Deep fluency with TypeScript, React, and modern web build tools.
- Experience building production product surfaces with systems-thinking instincts.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted tools like Cursor or Claude Code.
- Track record of building tools adopted by other engineers or non-engineers.
- Strong collaboration skills with designers, PMs, and partner teams.
