Join the Design Systems team at Thumbtack to create a bidirectional bridge between design intent and production code. You will build greenfield AI pipelines that move work from Figma prototypes to shipped React applications, collaborating closely with Developer Experience and Frontend Infrastructure teams.
What you'll do
- Build AI-assisted workflows moving work between Figma, prototypes, and production code
- Partner with Product Design to create patterns that compose into shipped products
- Evolve the Thumbprint design system for machine-readable documentation and MCP integration
- Collaborate with Developer Experience and Frontend Infrastructure teams on tooling
- Run office hours and gather feedback from engineers and designers using your tools
- Evaluate emerging AI development tools and recommend adoption strategies
What you'll need
- 6+ years of industry experience in software engineering
- Deep fluency with TypeScript, React, and modern web build/test/deploy tools
- Experience building production product surfaces with systems-thinking instincts
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex
- Track record of building tools adopted by other engineers or non-engineers
- Strong collaboration skills with designers, PMs, and partner engineering teams
