Join the Developer Experience team at Thumbtack to enhance productivity for approximately 250 engineers. You will own AI-powered workflows, cloud development environments, and the internal developer platform used by the entire engineering organization. This small, senior team partners with engineers across the company to identify pain points and deliver effective solutions.
What you'll do
- Build platforms for agentic developer workflows using tools like Claude Code and Cursor
- Design self-service workflows in the Backstage developer portal and CLI
- Own and evolve the Cloud Development Environment platform for humans and agents
- Improve build systems, CI/CD pipelines, test infrastructure, and observability
- Prototype and evaluate new AI developer tools for adoption and scaling
What you'll need
- Experience building developer infrastructure or platform tools at 100+ engineer scale
- Strong systems thinking regarding build pipelines and dev environments
- UX mindset applied to engineering systems and end-to-end workflows
- Hands-on experience with agentic tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex
- Fluency in Go and Python for services and CLIs
- Proficiency in TypeScript and React for web UIs
- 6+ years of industry experience in software engineering
