Join IRIS Software Group as a Senior Software Engineer to deliver complex, high-traffic systems serving millions of users. You will drive technical excellence, make commercially aware architectural decisions, and lead the adoption of AI-first engineering practices within your team.
This position requires hands-on development with .NET backends and modern UI frameworks, alongside mentoring junior engineers and establishing quality standards. You will collaborate with product and design teams to ensure solutions deliver real business value.
What you'll do
- Design and deliver scalable multi-service integrations and high-traffic APIs
- Own large features from conception through to production support
- Lead technical discussions and influence architecture decisions
- Drive AI-led ways of working using tools like Cursor and Copilot
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers to raise team capability
- Champion TDD/BDD standards and automated testing strategies
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex production incidents
What you'll need
- 5-7 years of professional software development experience
- Strong proficiency in .NET Core, C#, and ASP.NET Web APIs
- Experience with modern UI frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue.js
- Proven ability to deliver complex, internet-facing scalable solutions
- Active use of AI tools in design, development, and debugging
- Knowledge of SQL, NoSQL, and data architecture decisions
- Experience with containerisation using Docker or Kubernetes
Nice to have
- Experience in regulated domains such as finance or health
- Expertise in prompt engineering and Model Context Protocol
- Advanced monitoring skills with Datadog or similar platforms
- Knowledge of micro-frontends, SSR, or SSG patterns
- Advanced cloud certifications in Azure or AWS
