Join SimSpace as the technical lead for a newly formed team focused on network simulation. You will transform a patent-pending eBPF concept into a robust system that mimics real-world internet routing, including ASN topology and latency, within cyber range environments. This position requires deep systems expertise to bridge research concepts with scalable production engineering.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end architecture of the eBPF-based routing simulation layer
  • Design XDP and TC hook points along with BPF map structures
  • Build control-plane topology database and compilation pipelines
  • Architect lightweight in-range proxy agents for traffic forwarding
  • Define interface contracts for topology updates and agent lifecycle
  • Serve as technical lead making daily architectural decisions
  • Mentor engineers on systems design and kernel-level debugging
  • Collaborate with platform teams on multi-tenant operational models

What you'll need

  • Experience building SDN controllers or control planes with OpenFlow/OVS
  • Deep expertise in Linux kernel networking and eBPF program development
  • Strong systems programming skills in C or Rust for eBPF
  • Proficiency in Go or Python for control-plane agent tooling
  • Solid understanding of BGP, ASN topology, and inter-AS peering
  • Experience designing systems with control and data plane separation
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and architectural direction setting
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes for deploying services and agents

Nice to have

  • Experience with network simulation or traffic shaping
  • Background in cyber range infrastructure
  • Prior work in cybersecurity, defense, or government sectors

Stack
