Join the Platform and Core Engineering teams at Payward, the parent company of Kraken. You will design and implement robust Rust services and libraries that power critical financial infrastructure. This role focuses on building secure, scalable, and resilient systems that support global trading operations.
What you'll do
- Design and implement robust Rust services for core infrastructure
- Prioritize correctness, security, and long-term maintainability in code
- Write reusable and highly efficient code for production environments
- Collaborate on large-scale distributed systems architecture
- Shape low-latency, fault-tolerant services for global trading
- Contribute to a high-bar engineering culture grounded in ownership
What you'll need
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience building and scaling shared systems and internal platforms
- Proficient in writing network services or asynchronous code in Rust
- Security-first mindset during system design
- Ability to autonomously debug issues across OS, network, and application layers
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, RPC protocols, and Kafka
- Experience with Event-Driven Systems to design scalable solutions
- Ability to collaborate with product teams on requirements
- Take end-to-end ownership of systems and libraries
