Join Thumbtack's Site Reliability Engineering team to build and maintain the infrastructure that powers home care services across the US. You will design resilient systems, minimize downtime, and support high-performance applications used by millions of homeowners and service professionals.
This role requires collaborating with product and backend teams to enhance platform capabilities. You will focus on scalability, reliability, and improving the developer experience through better tools and processes.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain systems to improve service availability and scalability
- Set architectural direction for infrastructure and platform services
- Build tools for deployment, change management, and infrastructure operations
- Troubleshoot and debug critical systems throughout the software lifecycle
- Perform capacity planning and forecast demand to prevent bottlenecks
- Participate in rotating on-call duties to support production systems
What you'll need
- Extensive fluency in AWS cloud services and Linux operating systems
- Proficiency in reading and debugging code in Python, Go, PHP, or Javascript
- Expertise in distributed systems and web technologies like DNS, TLS, and HTTP
- Five years of experience managing infrastructure and large-scale systems
- Knowledge of observing microservices in a production cloud environment
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional technical collaboration
