Join Thumbtack's Site Reliability Engineering team to build resilient systems that support millions of homeowners and service professionals. You will focus on minimizing downtime and latency while enabling engineering teams to deliver software efficiently through robust platform services.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain systems to improve service availability and scalability
- Set architectural direction for infrastructure and platform services
- Build tools for deployment, change management, and infrastructure operations
- Troubleshoot and debug critical systems throughout the software lifecycle
- Perform capacity planning and forecast demand to prevent bottlenecks
- Participate in rotating on-call duties to support production systems
What you'll need
- Extensive fluency with AWS cloud services and Linux operating systems
- Proficiency in reading and debugging code in Python, Go, PHP, or Javascript
- Expertise in distributed systems and web technologies like DNS, TLS, and HTTP/S
- At least five years of experience managing infrastructure and systems
- Experience operating and observing microservices in a production cloud environment
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional partners
