You will serve as the technical owner connecting engineering alerting systems to Vultr's new Global Integrated Operations Command Center in Chennai. Your primary goal is to replace siloed monitoring consoles with a single-pane dashboard that provides clear visibility across all datacenter platforms.
This highly visible role requires mapping alert sources, building routing layers for ticketing tools, and designing correlation engines. You will work closely with Systems, Network, and Security teams to ensure critical alerts reach operations staff within agreed SLAs.
What you'll do
- Map alert sources from Systems, Network, and Security to identify clean integration points
- Build routing layers to push priority alerts into ticketing and paging tools
- Design and build a unified operational dashboard spanning multiple datacenter platforms
- Ensure critical alerts reach the command center within acknowledgment SLAs
- Run legacy tools and new dashboards in parallel during transition periods
- Build correlation engines and integrate telemetry sources from product teams
- Document routing architecture and dashboard for future maintenance by other teams
What you'll need
- 5–8 years in Tools/Platform Engineering or similar infrastructure roles
- 3–5 years hands-on with monitoring tools like Icinga, Grafana, or SIEM platforms
- 3+ years building integrations against APIs and webhooks using Python or similar
- 2–3 years building or modifying operational dashboards in Grafana, Kibana, or Power BI
- Understanding of ITSM workflow tools like Jira and how alert severity maps to tickets
- Experience mapping unfamiliar multi-team monitoring estates and consolidating them
Nice to have
- Prior exposure to multi-provider or multi-datacenter operational environments
- Experience supporting or building for NOC/SOC or 24x7 operations functions
- Hands-on experience with Vultr’s specific architecture and monitoring stack

How you'll work
- Fully remote position
- $500 stipend for remote office setup in first year
