As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will guide engineering verticals responsible for the Fanatics App, which integrates ecommerce, live events, and gaming. You will build and coach teams across mobile and backend platforms, ensuring high-quality software delivery and adherence to engineering best practices.
You will partner with product and design leaders to define roadmaps and drive execution using data and KPIs. The role requires balancing technical engagement in architecture discussions with empowering engineers to own implementation details.
What you'll do
- Lead and grow engineering teams delivering customer-facing and internal products
- Manage, coach, and develop engineers across mobile and backend domains
- Clarify technical requirements and negotiate priorities with product partners
- Drive team execution using data, KPIs, and continuous improvement practices
- Promote adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows and tooling
- Recruit, assess, and onboard diverse engineering talent
- Align stakeholders on actionable roadmaps and communicate status to executives
- Participate in architecture discussions and operational reviews
What you'll need
- 3+ years of experience managing one or more engineering teams
- 4+ years building highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems
- Strong knowledge of design approaches and system architecture
- Ability to scope projects and meet targeted business dates
- Experience negotiating feature priority with Product Management
- Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with Agile software delivery and SCRUM methodology
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report writing skills
Nice to have
- Experience working in a start-up or hyper-growth environment
- Strong background in mobile software engineering
- Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform or Compose Multiplatform
- Passion for sports cards, collectibles, or live commerce
