Join tem as a Senior Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead the technical direction of their core pricing engine, Rosso. You will build and optimize machine learning models that dynamically set electricity prices, balancing growth, margin, and portfolio risk in real-time.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role where you will write production code, design probabilistic models, and bridge the gap between quantitative research and software engineering. The team is scaling internationally after a successful Series B funding round.
What you'll do
- Define technical strategy and roadmap for pricing machine learning
- Design models to dynamically set prices balancing sign probability and margin
- Develop probabilistic models for short-term balancing and risk management
- Ensure models are architected for production performance and reliability
- Communicate model assumptions and trade-offs to technical stakeholders
What you'll need
- Deep experience building ML systems for pricing or revenue optimization
- Quantitative background in energy markets, trading, or similar domains
- Strong foundation in stochastic optimisation and probabilistic modelling
- Ability to choose appropriate methods like RL or heuristics based on problem
- Production-grade Python skills and high bar for code quality
- Experience carrying models from concept through to deployment and monitoring
Nice to have
- Experience with reinforcement learning or causal inference in commercial settings
- PhD or equivalent research depth in statistics, physics, or operations research
- Knowledge of trade-offs between optimisation solvers and gradient-based ML
- Experience working with high data throughput systems in production
Stack
- Python
- PyTorch
- Gurobi
How you'll work
- Fully remote position distributed across Europe
- Hands-on individual contributor role, not people management
What you get
