Join Kong Global Inc. as a Senior Technical Writer responsible for delivering clear and accurate documentation for their unified API and AI platform. You will work closely with product managers and engineers to ensure users and developers have the resources needed for success, treating documentation as a strategic product area.
What you'll do
- Write and edit API docs, developer guides, reference material, and release notes
- Collaborate with engineers and product managers to ensure content accuracy
- Test software features using CLI tools to validate documentation
- Manage document lifecycle including updates, revisions, and deprecation
- Implement documentation standards and version control processes via Git
- Own documentation strategy for specific product areas to drive adoption
- Identify documentation gaps based on user behavior and support data
What you'll need
- 3+ years of technical writing experience in software development
- Proven expertise in API documentation and developer guides
- Experience with API testing tools and methodologies
- Proficiency with Command Line Interface (CLI) tools
- Solid experience with Git for version control and collaboration
- Ability to synthesize complex technical information clearly
- Experience treating documentation as a product with strategic priorities
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
