Join Vultr's Server Onboarding team to bring newly racked CPU and GPU hosts into production. You will follow established runbooks to handle inventory, imaging, configuration, and activation. This hands-on position ensures the global bare metal and GPU infrastructure expands efficiently.
What you'll do
- Onboard racked CPU and GPU servers from handoff to production readiness
- Configure out-of-band management including BIOS, RAID, and firmware
- Perform network-based OS provisioning via PXE booting and automated imaging
- Run configuration management tools like Puppet to verify server setup
- Triage dead-on-arrival servers and coordinate hardware repairs
- Maintain accurate inventory in fleet management tools
- Follow onboarding runbooks and document issues for process improvement
What you'll need
- At least 2 years of Linux systems administration experience
- Familiarity with IPMI, BMC, or iDRAC out-of-band management interfaces
- Experience with PXE booting and automated OS provisioning workflows
- Knowledge of basic networking concepts such as DHCP and VLANs
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Puppet
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash or Python
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
