Join Skydio as a Site Reliability Engineer to build and scale the cloud infrastructure powering autonomous flight technology. You will own production environments, handling Kubernetes clusters, AWS networking, and infrastructure as code to support life-saving drone operations.
This position requires deep expertise in operating Kubernetes and managing AWS resources. You will troubleshoot complex production issues, automate operational tasks, and maintain high availability for critical systems used by first responders and utility inspectors.
What you'll do
- Build, operate, and troubleshoot production Kubernetes and EKS clusters
- Manage AWS infrastructure including VPCs, networking, IAM, and databases
- Define and maintain infrastructure using Terraform
- Operate CI/CD pipelines and deployment systems
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production incidents
- Automate operational workflows using Python or Go
- Scale infrastructure across new regions and environments
What you'll need
- 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Production Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience operating Kubernetes clusters
- Proficiency with AWS fundamentals like VPCs, subnets, and load balancers
- Production experience with Terraform or similar IaC tools
- Experience maintaining CI/CD systems such as Argo CD or Jenkins
- Ability to diagnose production infrastructure and networking issues
- Must be a U.S. person due to export control restrictions
- Willingness to obtain FAA Part 107 certification within 60 days
Nice to have
- Experience with Helm and GitOps practices
- Familiarity with Datadog or similar observability tools
- PostgreSQL or database operations experience
- Background in multi-region infrastructure management
- Experience with on-premises or disconnected deployments
- Knowledge of streaming or high-throughput distributed systems
