Based in Lisbon and San Francisco, Air Apps is a self-funded company creating tools that help people plan and work more effectively. You will shape the technology strategy while evaluating new frameworks to optimize performance and cost-efficiency.
What you'll do
- Define and maintain overall system architecture for scalable software solutions
- Provide technical leadership and guide engineering teams on best practices
- Design high-level system diagrams, data flows, and API structures
- Evaluate technologies and cloud services for performance and security
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and security in architectural decisions
- Oversee integrations including microservices, APIs, and third-party services
- Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams for smooth deployment and reliability
- Establish coding and architecture standards for maintainability
- Conduct architecture reviews and performance audits to improve efficiency
What you'll need
- At least 6 years of experience in software development and architecture
- Strong expertise in system design, cloud computing, and microservices
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Proficiency in backend technologies like Node.js, Python, Java, or .NET
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching, and data pipelines
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Understanding of security best practices, identity management, and encryption
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code
