Lead one of two teams within Institutional Transfers, focusing on either the foundational platform architecture or expanding product offerings for account moves. You will balance technical direction with team growth, ensuring reliable and efficient money movement for clients while partnering with Product, Design, and Operations.
What you'll do
- Hire, coach, and manage performance for a high-performing engineering team
- Define technical roadmap balancing new features with system reliability
- Ensure scalability of transfer platforms and operational support tools
- Partner with Operations to automate manual workflows and improve accuracy
- Promote engineering best practices including code review and observability
- Champion AI-first development tools to enhance team output
- Collaborate across teams to resolve dependencies and deliver outcomes
What you'll need
- Experience managing and developing software engineering teams
- Technical depth in distributed systems and production software
- Track record of delivering reliable products in regulated environments
- Understanding of backend/frontend systems, SQL, and cloud infrastructure
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Commitment to inclusive leadership and operational excellence
- Comfort supporting team members through on-call duties
Nice to have
- Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL, or Kafka
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, AWS, Datadog, or Sentry
- Background in Java, Kotlin, Python, or mobile development
- Experience in fintech, banking, or brokerage systems
- Knowledge of institutional transfer rails like ATON or Fundserv
