Join the Extract team at Singular to build the infrastructure that powers reliable data movement between tools. You will design and maintain integrations with third-party platforms, handling authentication, schema changes, and high-volume data flows.
This hands-on engineering role requires solving complex integration challenges while collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to expand the connector ecosystem.
What you'll do
- Design and maintain data collection connectors for external platforms
- Integrate with REST, GraphQL, webhook, and other third-party APIs
- Build scalable pipelines for collecting and normalizing large data volumes
- Implement authentication flows including OAuth and API keys
- Handle pagination, rate limits, retries, and API inconsistencies
- Create reusable frameworks to accelerate new integration development
- Monitor and improve reliability and performance of existing connectors
- Investigate complex data-quality issues across multiple systems
What you'll need
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Strong backend engineering skills for production systems
- Experience with RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs
- Solid understanding of HTTP, OAuth, cookies, and webhooks
- Experience building data pipelines, integrations, or ingestion systems
- Strong SQL skills for structured and semi-structured data
- Proficiency in Python or another backend programming language
- Ability to independently analyze third-party API documentation
Nice to have
- Experience with Rust programming language
- Background in ETL/ELT or Reverse ETL products
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms
- Integration experience with databases or SaaS applications
- Experience designing connector frameworks or SDKs
- Work with high-volume or distributed data systems
