Join the API Platform team at Horizon3 to develop the internal layer connecting NodeZero's services. You will own the gateway, API contracts, and shared capabilities that power customer interfaces and integrations, directly impacting system reliability and developer experience.
What you'll do
- Implement and maintain API endpoints, middleware, and platform services in Go
- Build the API gateway layer including routing, authentication, and rate limiting
- Write and maintain API contracts using OpenAPI or gRPC definitions
- Contribute to service reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident response
- Write clear, testable code covering both success paths and failure modes
- Collaborate with Data Ingestion, Integrations, and Client Platform teams
What you'll need
- At least 2 years of professional backend engineering experience
- Proficiency in Python or strong motivation to learn it quickly
- Solid understanding of GraphQL design principles and HTTP semantics
- Ability to reason about latency, error rates, and circuit breaking
- Comfort working in Kubernetes-based environments for deployment and debugging
- Experience with containerized development workflows using Docker
- Familiarity with API authentication patterns like OAuth 2.0 and JWT
Nice to have
- Experience with API gateway technologies such as Kong, Envoy, or NGINX
- Exposure to service mesh architectures like Istio or Linkerd
- Background in cybersecurity or building APIs for security tools
- Experience with gRPC and protobuf-defined service contracts
