Join the Mail team at Superhuman to build the backend systems powering their AI productivity platform. You will develop real-time infrastructure and services that enable agentic workflows and connect AI features to users globally.
This position focuses on high-throughput production services and scalable platform architecture. You will collaborate with ML, Product, and Front-End teams to ship end-to-end AI-powered features while maintaining high availability.
What you'll do
- Build high-throughput services for AI agent orchestration and data pipelines
- Design core platform services to ensure system scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship AI features
- Develop infrastructure as code for high availability
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering culture
- Maintain strong documentation, testing, and reliability standards
What you'll need
- 8+ years of back-end development experience
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design
- Experience deploying and debugging production systems at scale
- Proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms
- Fluency with AI coding tools like Copilot or Cursor
- Deep understanding of CI/CD and infrastructure as code
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Nice to have
- Experience with real-time systems or event-driven architectures
- Background in high-throughput API design
- Strong product instincts and user experience focus
