Join the team responsible for the core financial logic at Pliant, a European fintech specializing in B2B payment solutions. You will engineer the systems that handle settlements, drawdowns, and liquidity flows across multiple markets and regulatory models.

What you'll do
- Drive technical initiatives from conception to production-ready code delivery
- Shape system architecture and propose improvements for scalability
- Maintain secure, maintainable micro-service architecture adhering to standards
- Participate in on-call rotation and support efforts to ensure system reliability
- Document decisions via RFCs and ADRs to prevent knowledge silos
- Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers on feature delivery
What you'll need
- 5+ years of relevant experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Proficiency in building testable, maintainable, and extendable systems
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and event-driven communication patterns
- Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
- Practical experience with AWS cloud services and Docker
- Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to engineering best practices
Nice to have
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Deep architectural design experience
- Background in mentoring other team members
